much obliged.

Hah- nope (but will not complain if you post that)... I meant the other ones of the planes... (unless they weren't shot with the 24-70)

Cheers,

The one below will always remain as my favorite. I handed my camera to the FAA inspector (who was quick to confide he is a big-time fan of me & my work). I promise you, absolutely NO ONE ELSE was permitted out to where this FAA inspector permitted my young nephew & me to go. The FAA inspector said that in return, he'd like a print or two of my work to hang on his office wall - which reminds me, I'm needing to send him something... :-)

The above image (which you refer to) will likely be the cover on a magazine for this 1st Quarter. I was writing back & fourth with the editor earlier today about it. Below are two other images that I felt were also contenders.

D3 with 24-70mm lens at 1/80th sec to 1/100th sec, ISO 200. I did not have a gyroscopic stabilizer mounted to the camera, which was like suicide. However, I've since purchased a "really serious one" and vow to always have it with me on such photo shoots.

Oh, I see what you're talking about.

No. As we were flying, they were sandwiched in to each other.
And the plane I was in was sandwiched into them. Keep in mind,
these pilots are extremely, extremely professional. Flying close
together is what they do for a living, and they've been flying
for most of their lives.

How it works: the pilot closest to us is monitoring the plane I'm in
(the photo-ship). And the pilot furthest away is closely monitoring
the plane we see in front of us. Everyone is watching out for the
other - and we're all happy.

This image was made at perhaps 24-28mm wide. I basically almost
could reach down to touch the up-front airplane. It's within a mere
several of from the camera.

Because of my desired propeller blur, this image, and the others like
it, were made at a slow shutter speed (1/100th sec or slower).
