Need suggestions on how to remove canon logo from this lens

I would leave most of the writing just remove the word Canon from it otherwise I feel you would lose the desired effect that was attempted.

What a strange post. The work already done is much more difficult that the latter request to get rid of the words. Is this post for real? Even painting with a brush set to black would do it?

A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know. Arbus.

I'm doubting just setting the brush to black would achieve a good result. At the least, you'd need to work that in with a blending mode.

I think the various renditions gets ones creative juices flowing. :)

Ok, sample just next to the lettering then. I think you guys do some amazing stuff on this forum, but I don't think this exercise would stretch any of you would it?

Sampling the color next to the lettering and painting is exactly what I did in my "HAL" rendition above to remove the letters. Then lower the brush opacity and blend it in and you're done.

Yes it's for real. I have never been good at blending colors like this. If you just set the color to black, then it looks horrible, it's needs to be a gradual change from black to grey, which I still cannot do good enough. When I try it looks like someone slapped a piece of construction paper across the edge of the lens. Oh well.

Could it be that I have found my mind, or have I gone insane?
