hi,

I am wondering how long it will that a PC/MAC to process the S2 RAW file with no adjectment by the Hyper-Utility softwares. THe finsihed JPEG will be full res., Adobe RGB, no color adjectment and sharpening.
Also, please state what CPU and speed, RAM and OS that is running on the PC.
thanks a lot

On my iBook -

600MHz G3, 640MB RAM running OSX with the raw conversion happening under Classic

It takes about 2 minutes per file.

I haven't tried it on my dual-proc G4, should be much faster, but we'll see.

This was processing to a 16-bit TIFF, not to JPG

This sounds unfortunatley correct. I was speaking with a sales rep at Calumet in Camb. today who said the processing of RAW S2 files was slow...especially on the mac. His take was the software was originally created for the PC and just reworked the the mac. He speculated a PC would process the RAW files about twice as fast on a comprable PC. A drag to hear since I've been a mac user forever. Also, when you have the prospect of batching an entire wedding adhead of you...at least 600-900 images, this is a HUGE amount of time!
