with D300 on Safari in Tanzania

You want leopards?

Go to the Sabi Sand Reserve in South Africa. Tanzania best for the migration, cheetahs, lions.

Only centre image will display - 1st and 3rd show as dead link?

Looking forward to seeing the others. Best I could do would be pictures of our 10 month old Bengal cat.

Nice shot Jarle. There's nothing quite like capturing these animals in the wild. I'm very soon off to Kenya for my second safari trip in a year. Problem is - its addictive as is the whole African experience and it rather spoils you for anything else in spite of the high cost. Last trip I used a D200 and Sigma 50-500mm lens which I'd intended to sell on my return. I fell in love with the Bigma for wildlife shooting and this trip I will use a D300 with the long lens and the D200 with the 18-200mm VR. Changing lenses in the dusty bush is not advisable. I'm also taking a 50mm f1:8 for low light and 12-24 for the villages.

There's nothing like seeing a big cat in the bush, I like the red flowers dotted around.

The one criticism is in the choice of "portait" framing, as you do not catch the top of the plants it hasn't quite got the impact that it could have.

I wonder if you did a 4:3 in landscape across the original image, if that would push the composition up a notch. You might not have enough pixels to do it.

Well, like the others I could not see the 1st and 3rd images but nice effort on Nr.2 with just the caveats above.

Regards

Victor
