I'm not sure if this is a problem with my camera or if the settings are making this happen. I've tried multiple cards, sd and sdhc with the same outcome. I've had the camera since July and never had the problem until recently. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Heavy artifacts or colored banded lights appear during some of the recording.

--Oh and this is what I get form some of the images from the D90 also. Some of them don't even open and say printing failed when I try to open thumbnail!

As others have said, you really should employ more trial and error for the problem before automatically faulting the body itself.

Format the card, try again. If it persists on more than 1 card it is likely the camera. Get it in before the warranty is up.

I am sure it's your card. I just did my first video with my D90 and am very happy with the results even though I moved around quite a bit.

--Ok I've been making videos with this camera since July. Had no problems until just before Christmas. I've got a total of 64gbs of memory from 1gb cards to 8gb cards and it is doing it on all of them so it's not the cards but the camera. I deal directly with the Nikon head office in T.O. and they also tell me it sounds like a problem with the camera and told me to send it in to have it checked. I'll keep you updated on the outcome.
