What to use and how to clean a lens

what suggestions would you offer for cleaning the glass on my lenses?

Usually a blast from my Rocket Blower does the trick, but if I need more, I use Formula MC, available from The Filter Connection ( http://www.2filters.com./ ).

and only a good blow-brush for back element.

Use a digital protection filter always.

I've done this for 30+ years, no problem whatsoever. Here's a pic of my 50+ year old Leica M3 and its 40+ yo Summicron showing perfect front element.

Any cotton cloth will do and if you need cleaning solution a drop of water works. There are all sorts cleaning cloths, papers and fluids that you can spend your money on if you like. I don’t like to clean my lenses and prefer to use a UV filter that can take the abuse and abrasion of the cleaning.
