Who cares? Would this make you buy one camera over another?
"Who cares?" A deceptively simple question. I will, once again, paraphrase you by asking F.U. Bee or anyone else the question: What if someone here were to post a photograph so exquisite that nobody bloody CARED what camera was used to take the shot?

That I know of, nobody has ever once attempted to answer the question. Not once.

Or perhaps F.U. (or whoever else) could tackle this one: we've all seen good shots taken with higher-end Canon and Nikon digital cameras. Then again, we've also seen dog-meat-quality shots taken with that gear. And then again, sometimes people post really great shots taken with the lowly C2100 or some other non-high-end digital camera. So why not ask: "Can the Nikon XX or Canon XX do this?" Well, DUH. "Of course it can't. Only an Olympus C2100 can do that."

It's a reasonable bet that at least some of the F.U.-Bee-like creatures who slither around photo forums repeatedly trying to start puerile flame-wars over equipment don't own and aren't likely to buy such equipment in the first place. And for damned sure they don't understand your question, which probably leaves them in an advanced state of cognitive dissonance...

Well, I dunno. Maybe we've just missed something really really important. Maybe battery life really DOES turn out to be of supreme importance. (What Would Ansel Do?)

Well, I'm sure it can, although I've never gotten quite that far.

I've shot about 1100 pix in a single shoot on several occasions, and this doesn't even drop the battery indicator off the "full" mark. This is using the vertical grip with two batteries, but I wouldn't even consider using the camera without the grip. As far as I'm concerned, that's the default basic configuration of the camera.

I've NEVER actually had the batteries go dead on me while shooting, or even come close.

Its a HOG. Takes three batteries to really get the best
use of that thing.

But I LOVE it anyways :-)

No, most I've ever been able to shoot with mine in a single charge is 1492.

Why are you trolling on the Canon group? Especially when you were slamming your D100 a week ago.

What if someone here were to post a photograph so exquisite that > nobody bloody CARED what camera was used to take the shot?
As the World's Foremost Authority would say: "That, Mike A, is a two-part question.

Part 1: "What?" Answer: This is the age-old impetus for discovery of the wonders of science, art, and society throughout the very history of mankind.

Part 2: "If someone here were to post a photograph so exquisite that nobody bloody CARED what camera was used to take the shot."

Answer: I'd be surprised.

Right on Mike, I wonder if he had one good image out of those 1206?
