-- During my recent trip to Arizona ( I hate to fly because you are not given the chance to see a lot as when traveling by land or water ) I was able to go to Sedona. It was not on my schedule meaning that as a family unit photography was not a high priority. We left after breakfast and were home for dinner which translated to mid day shooting. To make things worse I had no GNDs or tripod. So what I ended up with was typical mid day parking lot grab shots. Fuji S-2/Nikkor 18-135 used for all shots. Enough disclaimer, now the images in no certain order:

I didn't know you had a rock and roll record
Until I saw your picture on another guy's jacket
You told me I was the only one
But look at you now it's dark and you're gone

--Hi Robert, outstanding as usual. However I must admit your "parking lot" views are much nicer than the parking lots around here!! We have way too many power lines and outdoor billboards in these parts, you have to travel a bit to get away from it any more. I feel California is trying to migrate in droves and bringing their "stuff" with them.
Have a VERY Merry Christmas!

I was there less than a year ago and found the parking lots great photo ops. However, the hikes are really not that bad. They are relatively level, but some are long. We were lucky to hit Cathedral Mountain on an afternoon. I have never posted this image but if you giive me permission on your thread it is very "Spenceresque." See, you're a good role model.

Wonderful area and a nice set.

Bob

Boy don't that 4th one just jump up and say here I am. Hope you enjoyed your visit and the chance to get some different views, Ken

--... good hearing from you again. California did the same to Bend Oregon when I lived there in the eighties. I got out to avoid it. Even here too many wires and poles (not the ethnic variety).

Thanks again for your contribution to my AGS photo sale earlier this year. It was huge.
You have a merry Christmas too. Take care. Bob

--..I need to go to Arizona again, especially after looking at your great shots.

Thank you David I'm sure anyone with a camera will be able to bring back nice shots from Sedona. Just wish I had more time and especially more time to myself to photograph the area. Oh well. Next year. Thanks for looking and commenting. Bob

This may be very presumptuous of me but Cathedral Mountain is gorgeous. Someone was setting up a Canon 1ds2 on a tripod and a grad filter but all I had was the S5 and a tripod but got this. Don't know why I never included it in a post. Since you gave me permission in the past here it is.

and, btw, I love Bend, Oregon. Happened across it while going through Central Oregon.

--Gee Bob. I don't know what to say except "same to ya". Thanks and
take care. Bob

It's not Alaska, but it is Robert Spencer. Superlative!!! I can't pick a favorite, they all are. You have captured what I remember and loved about my one trip to Sedona. Thank you!

Errm.... Where's the Snow Bob?

Thanks for showing me parts of Arizona Bob, I thoroughly enjoyed your take on the place , "your" style is still obvious in the shots too.
Lovely to see you posting again .
How did you enjoy the sunshine and all those extra stops available to you?
Rgds Joe.

Bob

These too are great. What a wonderful trip you had. I love the deep contrasty colours.

I looked hard at the photos and I can't find the boats or the water.....

Very nice shots. It is indeed an impressive place.

.. having all those big lumps of rock to point your camera at.

Those colours are something of a shock from your subdued gloom of Alaskan wetness. Splendid. Has the camera recovered yet, or will it need long term trauma therapy?
