Shot this with my G9 this past summer, saw it looking back through some of my images. This spider living on my back deck for a many months, I probably took 100 pictures of it through the course of the summer, so atleast one of those should be good right? This Grasshopper had to be sacrificed for this shot, but it made the spider happy.

Besides the wrath of the spider the other thing I really like about his picture is the ability to see the droplet structure in the strands of web.

I thought the macro functionality on the G9 was one of its strong points, the G10 is great too, but not quite as close in as the G9 got.

Another spider...this little guy had made a home in a flower beside my house. I miss summer...i shot this hand held and it was an overcast day, so the picture was a little underexposed, but i bumped up the brightness of the image a bit to get the flower looking white.

I don't see either of the pictures that you posted, Jody. Your site is blocked or something.

kind regards

Can anyone else see these photos, they show up fine on my computer inside two different browsers...I'm using Picasa web albums to host them. I'm not sure whats going on. Any suggestions?

Nothing shows on either post. I clicked "New Window" and the message shows the URL and says it cannot be found on that server.

Are your photos posted on a Public Gallery in Picasaweb, or is it unlisted or requires a sign-in? Look at the gallery in Picasaweb, click Edit/Album Properties, and see what choice you have selected. You can change it to Public so we can see it.

Strange, the album is listed as public. Maybe something is up with the folder I have it in.

When I previewed the messages the photos
appear, and when I look at the threads on here I see them, but its
probably because my browser has the images cached somehow.
I guess you're right about the caching. I tried pasting the link in the "Test" message above, and I can see them just fine...on that PC. But when I view on the PC in my work area, I see nothing.

Ahh, well...at least I saw the photos. Very nice, and we have both of those kinds of spiders here, too. Those big "banana spiders" or whatever they are can be pretty intimidating by their size alone. And I love those green ones. Very cool.

Yeah they get pretty huge, this was a mom, so she might have been full of eggs at this point, I noticed that she got smaller toward the end of summer and finally one day she was gone. I would not be happy with it crawling on me, we call them Writing Spiders because of the zig zag in the center of the web. My mom used to tell me if one wrote your name in its web something bad was going to happen to you...thankfully that hasn't happened :)

Thanks for trying to figure out my issue. Maybe I need to use something different to host other than Picasa.
