Post your dream kit. Money is no object.

d700/d3

35/1.4 AIS (holding off to see if they come out with an AF)
50/1.2 AIS (have)
58/1.2 Noct
Zeiss 100 macro (have nikkor 105 micro instead--not bad)

28/1.4
35/2 (have)
50/1.4G
85/1.4 (have)
180/2.8 (have)
200VR (why not? : )

14-24 (have)
24-70
70-200VR

I don't see myself getting the additional zooms, maybe, but I would definitely take them if someone offered. They are pretty nice. The Noct is the lens I want but will never have. I'd love the 28/1.4 too. I'm hopeful that they will come out with a new version of this or a 35. The used prices are ridiculous.

duh... I'd definitely add a d90 in there too for when I want to shoot with a compact/light kit or extra telephoto. I'd choose the d90 over the d300 because of the weight and the video mode.

If you want fish-eye: Canon D5mkII with the 15mm
or:

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/6070nikkor/fisheyes/6mm56.htm
That lens has to have the mirror locked up to work.
or if you want a real gun, go for:

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/reflex/index.htm

I know I'll never live that long to have all of this.
Enjoy!

plus you can have 24mm Canon PC waay cheaper than Nikon and as good(?)

all thrown in an unobtrusive bag like ThinkTank Airport series, or
LowePro small backpacs with the badge removed.
Don't forget 2 Gitzo carbon's and a Wimberly Gimbal head, and a RRS
ball.

But if your last name ends with Trump or Rockefeller, go for
Leica/Leitz.
Add the Land Rover of your choice to carry 'em all. Arghh, maybe a
chauffeur would help, and me too, me too, me too... :-)
Argh!!! don't forget, don't forget: a 24k,gold Rolex for your butler
too (that's me)

http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/nikkoresources/fisheyes/8mmf28.htm
16mm f2.8, but I wish it had been updated. This is a full frame fisheye.
AFS 14-24 f2.8

AFS 17-35 f2.8 for use where 14-24 might get the front element damaged in PJ work.
AFS 24-70 f2.8
AFS 50mm f1.4
AFS 60mm f2.8
85mm f1,4
AFS 105mm f2.8 VR

My dream would be:

D700
14-24 F/2.8
85mm 1.4
200-400VR + TC1.7
600VR + TC1.7

Reasonable I think, though it is far too much for my budget, unfortunately !!!

friendly,
Pol

So Pol, are you going to cover 24 to 200 with just an 85/1.4? or have you already got the 24-70 & 70-200?
My dream would be:

D700
14-24 F/2.8
85mm 1.4
200-400VR + TC1.7
600VR + TC1.7

My current kit (D300 with a few primes & 16-85) or any other DSLR kit + the following paid vacation kit:

1 month in Mexico
1 month in Perou
1 month Australia
1 month US
1 month Europe
...

well that would be far than enough for 2009, I'll still need the other 7 months to sort/work/post photos :-)
