Just to reconfirm my talent to make tests ;-))) I've thought to do another comparison : 1600 ISO straight from the camera vs. 1600 ISO after MR. The result? This action works beautifully on high ISO images also, making them more usable than before. Took the shots from a french web-site ( http://www.pictchallenge.com/S2preview1.html ) in which u'll find also a little test on the S2.

100% crop from the original : 1600 ISO

100% crop from the original : 1600 ISO + Moire Reducer

Much better and usable image IMHO. Judge for yourself.

Ciao,

Emanuele

Hi Tojo,

it's not a problem to give or not to give, IMHO. I'm only trying to be helpful 'cause I've received tons of advice from the folks of the the Fuji SLR Talk and I honestly think that it's one of the greatest forums of Dpreview, probably the best one. Others are plenty of people seeking for the match w/ the others to demonstrate who's better; definately not for me. I'm happy if this action will help you, really. ;-))) I would like to contribute more and more, even if my work makes me VERY busy.

Ciao,

Emanuele

PS. Some folks here are a bit "surprised" ;-)))

Emanuele,

Prior to using the technique I discussed for removing Moire problems, I used it for improving the quality of noisy images. I just found it worked for Moire also! It tends to get rid of a lot of the color noise in an image and makes it look more like natural grain rather than noise. Thanks for continuing to add to the forum with your tests!
