d300 with dolphin

Nice sharp shots for a fast moving subject. Beautiful animals.
Good framing (or cropping).

Were you on a boat? What were your camera settings?

Thanks for posting.

Boat, we have a charter business to take the tourist to see the dolphins. Water is only about forty feet deep and sandy bottom.

They're all somewhat blurry.

What was your shutter speed?
What lens were you using?

If a VR try turning it off, you probably have more than enough shutter speed anyway in all that sun.

Why is the water more blue in the last one? Post?

Pictures are taken with a Nikon 80-200mm
SS-1/1000-1/1250
iso-250
f/5
no polarizer

water is thirty to forty feet deep and a sandy bottom, the last pic was edited to make the water look more blue.

Picture could be more clear, but keeping the f/stop higher to try not to get the purple fringing.

Would a polarizer help with the fringing? or a higher iso with slower shutter speed? I just got the d300 and I'm playing around with the settings. In some of the pictures the faster shutter speed freezes the water splash with then give the pic a hard out of focus look. Any Ideas to Help?
