Hi,

Ostrava is a coal mining town in the Czech Republic.

Three landscape Casio EX850 exposures.

WOw, World is really small. My heart jumped when I seen the picture od the town I was born in. I live in Florida now for last 9 years, but until I was 20 I lived in Ostrava and so does the rest of my family. Thanks for sharing. It looks a bit different after all these years.

I'm just an amateur shooting bunch of Jpeg's and hoping every once in a while something comes out OK.

JJDinez You sure know how to take pictures and present them most wonderfully. I love your panorams, your helicon focus shots, and the interesting things you try to do with your cameras. In looking through you posts you have an fine array of cameras. I am surprised that you use the little Casio when you have lots of other good stuff to chose from. Care to comment?

Hi Ireno,

Interesting that you noticed.

The reason I use a Casio is that I like to have a camera with me every where I go, even when I go to work, and the Casio is small enough to be always hanging from my belt.

Some of these latest panos were done when I went out for dinner with friends and did not take my camera bag with me.

The disadvantage of using the Casio resides only on the lack of accessories like flashes and converters. The image quality is, most of the time, undistinguishable.

Hi Undah,

The distortion is removed by the stitching software.

I use Hugin+PtStitcher+Autoipano software+plugins combination, but it is a little complicated to use.

Try "Panorama Factory" which is virtually automatic.

Hi Akjos,

I found Ostrava very cute and peacefull. It is my daughter in law's home town.

I had the opportunity to visit the museum kept by the local mining company, and went down the mining shaft to see the real coal extraction machinery in action!

It was an awsome experience!
