Sexy girl (low key with E-3)

I agree with the need a little more light crowd. Just a hint more. Very nice idea and composition, IMO it could use just a touch more highlight on the girl.

Nice shot of the window . . .

The girl does need more light to make this a great shot.

Extremely well executed. I do like the low key effect as is.

Thanks.

how it looks to us will greatly depend on how our hardware is setup. for me it's too dark. I'm guessing others are seeing it a little brighter.

When told the reason for Daylight Saving time the old Indian said... 'Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of the blanket and have a longer blanket.'

no one notices the contrast of white on white

Alexei,

half an hour later (I had to recalibrate my LCDs... thanks :-) I can say: This is a very nice photograph. It screams 'retake me with b&w film camera', though!

Thanks for sharing,

cheers,

Claus.

... when the photograph annihilates itself as medium to be no longer a sign but the thing itself...

Exposing so the scene is dark. Often shadows go to black. There is usually a very light area to create a sharp contrast (Chiaroscuro effect).

Group Capt. Lionel Mandrake: I don't think they wanted me to say anything. It was just their way of having a bit of fun, the swines. Strange thing is they make such bloody good cameras.

Love the image.

but, Wow, I need to re-calibrate my monitor.

Had to load into PS to see it ... on my IE could not see her at all.

Maybe that is why my prints lately have been slightly on the bright side LOL

but, I might be one of those that think she deserves to come up a little more.

In print it might be great ... on a profiled monitor (on the darker side in general), on the web ... it looks a little dark.

Love f2 Oly lens wide open ... 14-35mm f2, & a 50mm f2+1.4TC is my fav. combo on two 'IS' oly bodys.

that's not low key - you are just avoiding blown highlights!

I quite like it - but it would be better to my eye if the lighting on the girl was a touch more. You can't just bring up the exposure though as the window area looks spot on as it is.

in IE on my laptop, i literally could not even find the girl. slightly lighter on my desktop in photo software, i could at least tell it was an arm, but still seems extremely dark to me. my monitor must be worse than i thought...
