I have just bought my first digital camera. A Sony DCS F55. It did not have a battery charger. "So what?" I thought, "I can buy any old charger, right?"
Wrong. Here is what Sony UK said:
"Thank you for your recent spares enquiry.
We can supply instruction manuals at a charge of £5.00 each.
The charger is £182.28 inc vat each.
The lead to connect charger to camera is £71.08 inc vat each.
Delivery is two weeks subject to availablity"
This is more than I paid for the camera. two questions here:
1. Does anyone else make chargers for these batteries, that does not involve ripping off the customer?
2. Failing 1. Is there an alternative to using Lithium Ion batteries?
All help is greatly appreciated.
