Hi all

i need help with a problem, i know the reason for my problem and ill not do it in my next shoot.

I shot with a black muslin on my models. But the muslin is showing up a little grey. I need to know the best way in CS3/CS4 to PPing the background out so its black without ruining the models exposure.

Regards

Paul

Prevent the light from hitting the muslin or use black velvet

--As you said.... you know how to prevent it in the next shoot....

I suggest you post the image on the excellent retouching forum on here and ask for advice on how to PP it to get the best result. Its not hard to do, but you should get excellent advice on there.

Very easy. just duplicate the layer, adjust the levels on the new layer to darken the BG, erase away the darkened subject to reveal the underlying layer.

I understand this may not be the right place for this post, but I dont know why people take the time to reply, telling you where to post and NOT give you the answer at the same time....

do a levels adjustment and you'll probably pull the grey back down to the black without much work

Couple of things, Bring your model more forward away from the background and/or feather the light away from the model so not as much light hits the background.

Your post doesn't really say much. We have no idea how your lighting it. Where is the strobe in relation to your model? Why is it there? What is your subject's exposure? What is your background's exposure? How much bounce are you getting from nearby walls, ceilings, etc.?
