D60s Stolen?

I have been waiting on my upgrade to D60 for a little while now. I've called Profeel where I'm #2 on list. They tell me that they have not received any in the last 2 weeks due to a break-in at Canon's product staging warehouse here in the USA. Does anyone know anything about this, or does it sound fishy?

There have been lots of statements made about shipments being stolen, places being broken into. Perhaps, since Canon just released a firware upgrade, they wanted to wait to make sure the firmware upgrade fixed the problems vs. having a major product recall. Only time will tell....

(This post reflects my personal opinion and is in no way factual nor can it be substantiated with facts. Just looking at the situation and applying common-sense reasoning... Any reprints of the above hearsay are at your own risk.)

I was put on a waiting list at Farr's & Co. in Idaho 3 weeks ago. They called me this week after getting a shipment in telling me mine was on it's way. It was sent to my husbands workplace, where someone could sign for it. I'm at work, can't wait to go home and open up the box. I told my husband you better not stay to late and get home promptly at 6.

Hope you get your camera soon.

Thanks for the hint Barbara. I gave Farr's a call and they expect to send one to me next week! Knowing how my luck goes, I'll probably get 2 at the same time....

If the stolen cameras from Canon are true, I wonder how reliable it is to get them thru ebay...

Fishy. I never heard such a story from anyone remotely reliable.

Sounds like the break-in is true based on info from Canon people. Read post from today:

It's a rumor. There was a burglary but not a D60 was taken.
