Are there any large format (11"x14" or bigger) dye sublimation printers on the market?
Has anybody used one if they do exist?
If they do exist, any words of advise about particular models?

I'm considering that printer. But I'm wondering what other options may be availble. I'm concerned with print longevity along with quality
Just wondering - why dye sub? I thought the newest inkjets have
surpased them in quality with far, far lower costs. For example
the new Epson 2100/2200.

I don't know of any but if I had enough money to buy a dye sub printer that large I would seriously consider the epson 7500 or the newer 7500 or even the 9600 with the ultrachromes. I have a 2000p in my studio and I think it sucks. It is incredibly slow. I get horrible color casts pretty much no matter what ICC profile I use and no matter how much I diddle with the levels in photoshop. However, when I use the 7500 I have no issues.

Check out the URL for Fargo (Primera Printers) for full size Dye Sub.
$1,999 for a refurbbished 310e.
The supplies are very expensive.

Hi Ed,

Do you have any metamerism problems with the 7500.

Which paper are you using?

I find on the semi gloss or glossy the images are not great. On watercolour they are fine.

Regards,

Richard
