Hello, hello

It has been forever since I posted an image but I wanted to share these with you.

Charles and Kurt were so kind as to spend some time with me on my first night in New York. We had a wonderful dinner and were joined by my cousin and Kurt's fabulous wife Alicia. We had an incredible evening. Thanks again Charles & Kurt!

The visit continued with the autumn leaves getting more colorful by the day. I was upstate in the Hudson River Valley. It was an absolute feast for my California eyes. We have fall but it is only is spots ;-)) and we don't have woods.

Any comments or critiques would be much appreciated! I am getting a bit rusty and you guys can help to shape me back up again.

Hello, Denise. I am new to DP Review. You asked for c & c. This is what I would recommend on the group photo: tone adjustment, hue adjustment, agressive sharpening. Looks like you guys were having a fun time. Also, I enjoyed your fall shots a lot.

Glad to see some more Dpreview meetups from distant members. I was glad to have met you when you were coming through Ft. Lauderdale last year too - I'm particularly jealous of the fall colors you captured since I haven't even seen those myself in years.

Good to see you posting a few here again...though certainly no C&C needed! You nailed 'em just right (the photos). :)

I'm new to DP Review, yet you have not made an effort to welcome me as yet. You have looked up my history and made unfair comments. You just left an abrupt comment on your current thread to me. I have asked you to give me a fair chance.

I understand from recent comments that you are recovering, so I considered that might attribute to your actions. But the more familiar I become to this section of the STF, I'm seeing a lot of attaboy comments. And yes, I understand this is a family of sorts.

My c & c was directed at Denise. She had requested c & c. This photo is delightful in subject matter, but suffers greatly in quality. It's way underexposed and is not flattering to the subjects.



I will continue to voice my opinion. It might help our relationship if you kept in mind that photography is subjective. What I prefer, someone else may not prefer.

In reviewing the other photos that Denise posted, she is obviously an advanced photographer. I'm assuming that she is tough enough to ask for c & c, then take what SHE feels is of worth to her. It is her decision to take or leave what is suggested.

I hope that you will eventually welcome me to the STF as I plan to stay here until its demise (whether welcomed or not) and I also plan to be a very active member.

Thanks so much. I am working on the rest of the pics I took. Got really lucky with the timing!! My hands have been giving me trouble so I need to limit computer time!!

Thanks for the suggestion on PP the Group Shot. I must confess that I didn't touch that photo, so you are right it needs a little help. Your version isn't quite right on the skin tones but of course you weren't working on the original ;-)) and don't know how dark I am. LOL ;-))))

I appreciate your input and glad you liked the fall images. You can tell where my photo interest lies!!

Thanks so much!! I love the last one too. It is my current screen saver. The woods were a friends backyard. I was making everyone crazy carrying on about the trees!!

Hopefully my hands will cooperate and I can be more active on the forum. I miss you guys!!!
