Hi,

I will be from the 18th till the 22th in London.

Having some time for shopping, I like to visit a store which is specialized in used film cameras of Nikon.

I do know some camera stores there, however not any really specialized in old Nikon and Nikkor.

Will be happy if you know a store (not online) where to see and to touch.
Thanks in advance,

Michel

Oh,

And a question:
Do you know the store named Sendean? Is it worth to visit?
Greetings,

Michel
Renato,

Thank you very much.
I've seen the store name coming by already several times, I will visit.

No, I don't. In fact, I don't live there, but arranged my purchase thru e-mail, personal help (no forms), when I got there my stuff was already set aside for me. They have a very good used lens and camera sector.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I never had a single problem with the camera and lenses I got from them.

They are not your cheapstake type of store, but even you don't buy anything there, it's worth a visit.

Thanks all,

I go to Grays and Sendean for sure, if time enough I check the other options, except for Calumet (which I know in London and here, for the modern stuff it is convenient)

I'm interested in an old Nikon camera, it is for a present, so what I will buy will not have much use by me. :-)

Back in the late 90s early 2000s there used to be a whole slew of collectable camera shops in Pied Bull Yard near the British Museum, one seems to still be there (mainly Leica).

The Classic Camera - The Leica Shop

I also found this link

Looks like it could be useful from a quick look

I don't know Kingsley and Teamwork, but Fixation, Calumet and Jacobs
don't have the range of used Nikon film cameras that Gray's does.
Sorry, missed the used requirement. Kingsley often have used kit but they're a bit low right now. You could also try Aperture, near the British museum. There's a cafe attached, often known as the Camera Cafe and they always have a good stock of Nikon used.

Calumet used is all on ebay, Jacobs big store in New Oxford street has a used cupboard in the rear of the shop, Fixation good for repair but not for used etc

http://www.apertureuk.com/ for all the details.

Aperture don't keep their online stock guide up to date, if you rely on that you are likely to be disappointed. Jacobs New Oxford St are on a par with Jessops; lacking in knowledge and often rude

I see that London alone offers more than whole of The Netherlands :-) by means on used Nikon equipment.

Made out a print (long live google maps) with the locations mentioned.
Looking forward to visit.

Thanls again,

michel

always seem to have a lot of kit, mostly film and a healthy selection of Leicas.

For me, and this is only my opinion, Grays has a vibe that I'm not sure about.

If I were you I would contact Grays and tell them what you are looking for.

They really are the Nikon specialist and have a wealth of knowledge.

They may be slightly more expensive for some items but their ratings for secondhand equipment are precise and honest, if they say it's mint condition it really is.

I have spent serious money with them over the years and they are a class act, you will get the kind of service most of us want.

A word of warning, in Grays you will be surrounded, literally by all the latest Nikon gear and it is easy to get carried away!

Aperture is also worth a punt if Grays can't help.

Just out of interest did you have a specific model of film camera in mind?

regards
tony
