Willoughby's is an odd place. They won't necessarily rip you off, but they'll let you rip yourself off.

I bought my first 5D from them just before Christmas 2005. They dropped the price from $3300 to $3000, so I bit and ordered online. Then I was required to phone them to "confirm" my order. I did, and they tried to sell me more stuff, but I declined and they sent me the 5D with no problem.

I don't blame them for kicking the price up if people are willing to pay it. It's no different than a car dealer selling a popular car for more than MSRP. They might get away with it until the initial feeding frenzy subsides.

$3300??? Well, best of luck to them IF they can find anyone willing to pay that price.

Exactly... B&H still has it listed at $2699.95, with expected arrival approximately December.

You would have a better chance in Vegas or the stock market to score big.

Note the "usually". I'm guessing they're just trying to rip people off and snag pre-orders - there's no guarantee. Amazon shouldn't allow it, because it makes them look bad to have the highest price around.
