Post your lucky shots!

I've posted this before, but it is definitely a case of being in the right place at the right time. I was all set up with tripod to capture ruby-throated hummingbirds feeding, but this fellow got there first.

-sadly lacking a witty cliched comment-
This is a Carolina anole lizard. Also known as a green anole.

And in this case, he was, indeed, in Carolina - South Carolina.

I feel a vast majority of my shots are just due to luck!

Get your dogs in a row...

My only decent bird in flight...

It wasn't my intention to get this radial blur... I've been playing with this happy accident ever since...

From my pre-Pentax days...

Great shot Andrea, it would be a lucky shot for most of us but after looking at your gallery I don't know how much luck was involved...

My Pentax K10d galleries http://www.pbase.com/wjwncpro (GMT-4)

Girl hiking Mt. Rainier.

Stopped hiking (to breathe), looked around and saw her. Took the picture over my shoulder, 400mm, out of breathe, no crop. Funny, but there is one part of her that is right on the thirds mark. Suffering from altitude sickness and still worrying about composition :)

My student had the "luck" of excavating a fully intact jar from the terrifically burned remains of a destroyed city dating from 850 BC. This jar and a jug next to it were the only intact pieces in what had to have been a maelstrom of fire and violence 2850 years ago.

Taken with K20D+Tamron 28-75mm f/2.6 zoom

Thanks, Wayne!

Coming from someone with your talent, the complement is especially appreciated!
