I think it's a long exposure with a twist of the zoom ring.
Very nice pics!!
I think the last shot (statue) is a bit over-exposed. A bit more detail on the statue would be nicer. Just my opinion though, still a nice pic!

the first shot is of the colemen bridge over the york river, in yorktown, virginia.. a slow shutter speed was used, and I zoomed in and out slowly to get the "pulling the lights toward me" effect .. just some expirementing.. I love this d90!
