It was the last warm day of the fall and I haven't had my camera out since I got it back from having the lens adjusted (and the smudge on the INSIDE of the lens cleaned off).

Everything was taken on auto or P. I was pretty happy. It is definately sharper than it was.

and I know there are a lot of bee pics. But these are the first and only bees I saw all year and I was very excited. Just some sharpening and resizing.

All in all I was really impressed with the closeup on the auto. It created a lovely bokeh, imho. any c&c is always welcome.
thanks, LG

Lovely shots all. Glad your camera is back in good shape. I'm sure you'll find more than bees to keep you (and your freshly repaired camera) busy in the future. Thanks for posting.

awesome pictures and all from H50.
i love them all, very natural and clear bee shots than the usual over
sharpened PP'ed close ups posted usually.
thanks, It is hard to know how much is too much when sharpening, and with my monitor which has a very high contrast ratio, it is hard to know when it will look good on other montitors.

I like the H50. I thought about switching to an FZ28 because I lke the toggle button better than the wheel, but I have a TZ5 and don't like th pics as well as those from the F50 and I am expecting the 28 to have the same type pics since it has the same processor.
The H50 on auto works brilliantly (something I had never used on my H9).
thankis for your comments, I appreciate your taking the time to look

That's great news, since this is a nation wide problem hopefully more
areas will do this to help our bee population.
funny how you can see the little guys all your life and not think about what a part they are of the enviroment and then really miss them when they aren't around. Really has impacted the flowers around here.

good to hear ur happy after they * fixed* ur camera personaly i would have used EV compensation somthing like -3 they look a little on the edge exposure wise ....at least on several monitors home and at work.

to test if ur lens is really sharp now ( well aligned ) u better take shots from a brick wall several focal lengths and F stops. ....and look from corner to corner.

u said u applied some sharpening and to my eye they still dont look as sharp .....compared to other shots i've seen from the H50.

i toke the liberty to do a little PP

ur shot

my take after a slight sharpening and a bit contrast correction

cheers Marti

acually, I wanted to test the camera using full auto to see how it did, so I wasn't tweaking any of the settings. I normally shoot at -3.

Oh, that's way to technical for me. I used to have a very clear smudge in the lower left quadrant, didn't need a brick wall to see, and it's not there anymore so I'm happy.

thanks, I actually like pics that aren't oversharpened to the point of making them shimmer along the edges. Makes them look more like film and less like digital. I think we've gotten so used to everything being sharpened to the point of being almost plastic looking that we've come to expect things to look like that. I was really going for more of a soft, kind of dreamy look. But I appreciate the comments and you taking the time to work on them.
