Your 4800 (at 3.0) is OK for portraits (86mm). Most professionals used to use 85mm or 105mm. I prefer 105mm. You could get an Extend-a-lens adapter and a Tiffen 2x telephoto lens, then then zoom out with your Kodak to somewhere between 2.0 and 3.0 until you are pleased with the results. You might get a little vignetting when you zoom out, but for a portrait that might be pleasing.
