D60 at Airshow

Hi Bart ,

I love the series of the F-16 . Seems it's the only acrobatic plane the ministry of defense allows ......
Remember the Red Devils team ?
Good old days before we had 5 governments !

I also like to see the Fouga Magister is still alive after 50 years of good service .
Thank you for sharing .

Best regards ,

Danny

Hi, Bart -

You might want to consider using a slower shutter speed (around 1/125 to 1/300 or so) for aircraft with rotors or props. The helicopters would look more like they're flying if there is noticeable blurring of the rotor blades. Same with flying aircraft [this one is at 1/250th f/20 using a 1D]:

Also, HTML pages which automatically take over my whole desktop and Javascripts that disable right-click navigation are evil in my opinion.

Regards,

Mark J.

Bart,

Nice pictures of my favorite photographic subject! That's a great pic of the F-16 with the afterburner lit!

Feel free to take a look at my 'just plane pictures' gallery too:

No, this was my first Air Show I ever visited. Not really at ease after the terrible crash a couple of years ago in Oostende.

My pleasure.

At the speed these planes went, I don't know if it was possible without bluring the plane. (Allthough you could ;-)

I always set my browser full screen, I don't see the problem.

Thx for reacting, greetings,

Liked the F-18 the most, was probably the hardset one to shoot as well ;-)

Hi Thanh,

Most of the current pictures were taken with a Canon 100-400. However I used my 'standard' Canon 28-105mm for some of them too.

If you click on any of the thumbnail pictures on the main site, a larger picture will open. There's a box below the larger pictures labeled "Aircraft Information".

Point your mouse on the box and a popup showing the aircraft type, lens used and camera (all Canon D30) appears.

Thanks Don & Derek,

I saw those pop up descriptions after sending out the question. But I still wonder was that the lense with "L" or not?

Thanks
