I shoot with an M6.. (and Nikon... sorry).

I have not yet jumped into the M8 pool mainly because I tend to shoot in all kinds of weather including rain and snow and I don't want to fry a $6300 box of electronics.

Three of my friends have had problems with water ingress on their M8's. Two of them ended up with fried units.

So... Issue or not?

Sensorly yours...

Why not? My "other"camera is a fully sealed Pentax K20D and when I use it with my 50-135 lens (also waterproof) I can shoot all day in pouring rain and never have an issue. I don't need the weathersealing all the time--sometimes the weather is just to bleeccchh and I stay indoors but it sure comes in handy when I need it. If Pentax can do it with a $1000 camera surely Leica could as well.

So, not necessarily a "must have" feature but sure handy and useful at times...
