black & White mode on D100???

Using high ISO (800), I find that pictures taken with in-camera B&W turn out superior to computer converted color at the same ISO.

Aside from this observation, there is something to the claim that pre-compression conversion is an advantage in JPEG photos. Perhaps higher ISO accentuates this?
Not being an intelligent person....

Why not shoot color and then convert to B&W later? I had a 995 and
never used the B&W feature because I downloaded a channel mixer
online that made the pictures look soo much nicer B&W than the in
camera settings. Just a thought...

Dan,

Which "online channel mixer" are you refering to? Is it available from Nikon or someone else?

Thanks in advance,

Sorry for the delay, the channel mixers I've used and really like are available....
