And more difficult at the same time!

If you go for color, then you may often try to get them right, meaning to reflect how you see them in nature. The gras must be green and the skin must look like skin. Wow, this is not easy!

On the route to b/w I can forget about the natural look. You have all the freedom to play with the mapping of color into a grey tone. Then you simply concentrate on the message you want to convey. Is is a structure, a pattern or a smile? Is it the light or shadow? All up to you.

What is difficult at the same time? You got a million ways to do your b/w. When there are two ways to go in color, there are 20 in b/w!

Let's go for it! You have 24hours for this challenge!

I thought Pam R brought out some real good points. I especially liked her example of the baby's face being the main focal point (so avoid the bright colors).

As Frank says above, there are more options with black and white. The hard part is looking at your image, and figuring out what there is about it that will be interesting in black and white, and then working on that in post to bring it out.
I haven't taken the first step yet on this journey.

Hi Glyn,

right now I find three entries in the eligible which are duplicates from the ones in the exhibition. According to EXIF they should go in the exhibition.

I will go and remove the ones in the eligible, unless you let me know that they really you should go there. Need to hurry as voting starts soon.

Just did a late swap-out on one of my exhibition photos. I had planned to include it originally but thought it too radical. Then I opened up Karen's most excellent "White Tiger" and decided maybe it wasn't radical enough. With new- found courage I replaced my boring horse trailer with something new and different. What do they say, that "fortune favors the brave" or some such? --

Definitley ONLY Exhibition ....

They were taken OUTSIDE the competition time ... as exif shows and so could never qualify for Eligible category. But thankyou for your kindness in checking with me.

I realise now I had fought and lost another battle with the forum software and apologise for the trouble caused.

If you have not already taken them out, then I am going straightway to that forum so try to do it myself.
