Adam - Agreed 110%, my sparrows although not nearly as colorful as yours also demonstrate the sharpness and amount of on bird FOV that can be attained if you can get the camera/lens close enough.

I even used live view to "point" the focus point in the right direction...came out with the sharpest "feather" detail I've had to date! The 100% originals really show the "strands" of each feather.

Now if I could just get some hummers to show up at my house next year!

Thank you for the very kind comments guys. The excellent pics posted on this weekly thread are extremely infectious and inspiring. I have ben visiting diligently these past couple of months. Here's another for this week. A winter migrant here and a most attractive young lady caught just before her morning ablutions. If only photos could do her justice :)

Excellent shots as usual, Collin! Oh yes! Sigma QC! I had to returned the Bigma I just bought for my Nikon since it didn't focus whatsoever. This is the 1st time I had to do this for a lens.
