Does this forum attract sick people ?

Regardless of your opinion of me or others here, I welcome you to the soup here. Your presence adds something and will certainly enhance the flavor of others in some way or another.

My mom's family were coal miners in PA, they knew the value of hard work and the value of one dollar in any economy.

I had the good fortune of growing up in a small town on a small farm. I know the value of hard work, the sun, the moon and the stars for I saw them all as I did my chores before the sun rose and after it set.

I also enjoyed many many wonderful nights on the porch or in the yard just staring up at the stars...oh where oh where has the milkway gone?

Any whoooooooo...Thanks for being you Billyboy...you actually sound like a good ole boy I used to know who owned the local feedstore.

and oh...if you come to Texas, you might want to skip the Austin tour....looks like and feels like San Francisco!.. :)

I'm from a blue collar area (Steel making etc no non-sense hard
working people, some call it fly over country) and I can't believe
what anxieties are expressed on a regular basis here. From SDS to
using your camera in hot weather to RichO talking about something I
can't make heads or tails of with "The Sun, The Moon and YOU" (I
guess he's from Texas but I would have guessed San Francisco :-)
Before coming to this forum I thought I had a high anxiety level
but a lot of you are over the edge. Does Photography attract these
kinds of people ? or is it the state of the country at large,if it
is this coutry is in trouble......

We all live in our little worlds - Steel land, Texas, SF, Israel, Sweden, New York, Egypt, etc. and tend to isolate ourselves within those areas to people who think and act like we do.

On forums like this we interact with a large cross section of the world. It's a shock to many of our systems to find out that we have interests in common with people we thought we were supposed to hate.

I wholeheartedly agree with you! In fact, the ONLY two NORMAL people on this forum is me and you and I sometimes wonder about YOU. ;-)

--This is a forum of miraculous and rare individuals who just so happen to share the common denominator of photography. A venue for those who come from all walks of life and have been given the implied freedom to express the gamut of expressions from their hearts...that is what a family does and also the subtle invitation to be who you are through unconditional love..

What is perceived as 'sick' or 'anomulous' behavior must first exist in the perceiver....so the 'throwing stones in 'glass' houses thing' is more of a statement of the issuers frame of mind rather than the externals which mirrored those judgements.

We are the sum total of our experiences, choices and decisions...a private world replete with heartache, success, tragedy and love...

Its' best to realize the path taken by your shoes than assume the path of others.

I'm so sick when I took this: http://www.pbase.com/image/2882517 I actually worried about being drug through the coals, by you, for allowing cows in the pic.....LOL....

I personally think you should think about a mild sedative...You think too much...LOL

nice photo, looks like it was very late in the evening(sort of a golden autumn glow to the pic). I don't have anything against cows used in this manner. Just those photos of cows and nothing else, doesn't show to much imagination. But the cows here accent the barn nicely. And you even got some grass in the foreground. ! great work (and I really mean that)

Maybe your right ,I should take a seditive :-) I act impulsive sometimes and sometimes all this anxiety by other people gets to me. I don't regret what I said but maybe the way I said it. I'm not good at putting my thoughts into words. For all who agreed with me thanks,I know there are a lot more out there that do but don't want to stick your neck out. I understand that.

And to people that don't see things the way I do,I ask for your tolerance.A lot of people on the left on college campus's talk about tolerance, but their brand of tolerance only extands to the people that think the way they do. I'm not even asking for you to respect my opinion as I might not yours but I'll meet you half way and defend your right to say it.

To RichO,you seem like a nice person but some of your posts are flaky and you make yourself a target for that kind of criticism.I remember a couple of weeks ago some people really let you have it when you gave your "magic" plea :-) So I'm taking my lumps now as I knew I would when I posted this. That's about it for the replys. As I said before I'm not good with words and spelling them. During the "Lazy Photographer" post I sent most of the day replying to all of you and I'm not going to do it this time,it's to hot and it's the 4th have a good one.......

As both a musician and photography enthusiast I have come into contact with many artists through the years and can definately say yes in a weird sort of way we are a sick bunch....BUT if seeing the world in a different light or hearing the beat of a different drummer makes me sick I will definately stay as I am.After following this forum I have noticed a lot of the regulars are highly intelligent people and not your run of the mill photography enthusiast. Photography is an artform and it has been PROVEN that artists have different brain patterns than "normal" people. What a dull and depressing world we would have if it weren't for "weird" people who spice things up for the rest of us.well gotta go time for my medication :-) hee hee.

Calm down, It's a beautiful day! A holiday weekend! Why don't you take your camera out for a drive.

PS. Don't drink so much of the tap water, get a gallon of spring water.

BillyBoy,
I mean no harm in the following thoughts:
1.Name it and claim it
2.Whoever smelt it dealt it

3.Your trying to form opinions when you yourself admit your not sure why you react so fast sometimes and not good at putting thoughts into words. Its all connected, so before you put down others , better know theyself better .Or as they say in terrorists school," bring me all the people who don't like themselves , and well get them started" .But your not without hope either, you at least admit to some things..So the next step might be not to project any of your personal frustrations on others? Maybe read the Catcher in the Rye? Sure they are times when its justified to be down on others ,but don't you think calling people crazy cause they talk about photography is not one of them?

Ps- I think you called people sick and not crazy? Anyway one of the hardest things sometimes is to understand they self ,and by posting these messages, you get to a better place, then that is a good thing. My next question would be to ask about your family but will save that for another year.:)

Tolerance ergo, tolerance for a differing point of view. Like I said before this guy is way,way out in "left" field. A couple of days ago he quoted a song from John Lenon, the same song that says "Imagine there's no God" how's that sound Erg ?

I don't apologize for what I said, what you said (below) to me was more rude then what I ever said about him. tolerance Erg, tolerance

BillyBoy,

How can you speak of tolerance when it appears you have none...to single RichO out in this thread was just wrong...he is a very caring man...

I don't think quoting John Lennon makes anyone to be "out in left field"..

What John Lennon sang was "imagine there's no heaven"...not imagine there's no God...

With all the wars fought in the name of religion and terrorists blowing themselves up along with innocent people so they can get a free ticket into heaven, (in their sick minds) I think John Lennon had the right idea...for peace...

Remember when you're pointing your finger at others that you have three of your own fingers pointing back at you...
