I am a windows guy going to a mac pro. I have final cut pro 6. I am enjoying this whole new world of Macintosh. My question is: can I export a video I edit in Final Cut pro 6 to the Flv format?

I just export as an uncompressed QuickTime MOV and then import that into Flash. That way it retains top quality to the end and only gets heavily compressed once.

I was playing around with Final Cut pro 6 today on mac pro. Latest and greatest machine. 2 gig of ram etc. Well, I took a finished video from final cut and tried to convert it to flash using Flash 9. The video was 1 minute and 34 seconds. When I tried to do it it came up and said it would take 1 hour and 24 minutes to convert it to flash. I must have done something wrong. How long does it take a AVCHD file to convert to flash that is 1 minute and 24 seconds long...approximately

AVCHD is a recoding format..... made by hardware on your camera.

the sequence goes:

AVCHD uncompressed then recomposed to Flash format.

depending on your settings of course this takes time

Praise be to Sony for saving the A mount.

I appreciate your response. I just can't imagine that to go from AVCHD (wth a 1 mnute and 34 second clip ) to the FlV format using Flash 9 it should take 1 hour and 24 minutes...using a Mac Pro desktop computer with 2 gig of Ram. I must be doing something wrong.
