is there anybody here using a tokina 11-16 on a D40?

It's not that much more than the Sigma 10-20, and it has constant f/2.8. Of course, the Sigma has more range. All of the ultra-wides for DX are about compromises. I chose the middle ground and got the Tokina 12-24 f/4.Wow an expensive lens than the Sigma 10-20, hope you got better IQ

i haven't bought it yet. just looking at wide-angle possibilities on a D40.
Tokina are supposedly revamping their range to include focus motors. Probably take quite a while to happen though:Yes, it's MF only, but with wide it's not really a big deal, since
depth of field is pretty big. I'll try to have some photos up soon.
