Be prepared! That's my motto. The Uzi sits on the kitchen counter set to Sports Program. Grabbed it this morning when I discovered a wild turkey in my front entryway while watering my plants. I ran to the window and shot this. No time to make any settings other than turn the camera on and zoom slightly (I leave the zoom in the reset off position.)

Beautiful shot of this elusive bird.. Most of my turkey shots were taken through windows.

Most of our windows are double pane and tinted grey. I'm amazed they come out so well. Other than resizing and a bit of unsharp masking, I did nothing to this picture.

...as George mentioned, these are wary birds, and your shot of this hen is beautiful!...will she be one yer new "digipets"?...

...they prefer to remain on the ground, and are speedy runners, but can fly and soar with the best of 'em...
...thanks,

It was early morning when I took this shot, so I imagine I should check through that garage window tomorrow morning! Perhaps she will be a new "digipet".

Wonderful shot Isabel. Good thing for the turkey it's July and not November. Could have ended up on the Cutler family dinner table.

...we'd never have turkey on holidays...it's not my favorite meal...this turkey doesn't have anything to worry about from me.

Wish I could have gotten that background more out of focus, but in sports program mode the Uzi is open at it's widest, right? I could mask it and use gaussian blur selectively, but getting those hosta plants selected would be a bit of a chore!
Thanks for the kind words.
