I guess that many of you, like me, have progressed from the D100, through the D200 to the D300 and at the same time have purchased better quality glass.

Don’t you sometimes wish that you could go back and re-shoot a particular picture with your latest kit?

This candid was shot in Venice in 2005 with a D100 together with a cheepo Sigma 28-300mm f3.5-5.6. 300mm ISO200 f6.3 @ 1/640 RAW.

I now have a D300 and a Nokon 70-200mm f2.8 and I would just love to re-shoot this picture with my latest kit, but of course this will never happen.

Do you have a picture that you wish the you could re-shoot with the kit that you have now?

Yikes... blurfest!

She is kinda cute though.

There really aren't any pictures I can think of that I wish I could retake on a newer camera body. I only keep the pictures I shoot that are extremely sharp with a lot of detail, and then I mess around with the colours and white balance in post-processing. No offense, but it looks like this picture is out of focus. I don't think it should be that soft at f/6.3. Perhaps you need to work on your skill a little bit.

I can take great pictures on my Nikon F75 (N75 in the states), let alone my more expensive digital SLRS.

Definitely out of focus, and really cropped immensely. She didn't even realize you were taking her pic.....that's what is normally called a perv pic.... not a nice thing to do....

Thanks,

It is a suberb lens; fast, stunning IQ and quick AF. I got the TC-17E at the same time, together they make a great combination.

It has made me dissatisfied with my other lenses: Nikon 12-24mm and 18-200mm, particularly the latter. The long term plan it to switch over completely to Nikon f2.8 pro glass.

Thanks,
Thought they called those kinds of pics candid? That is what the word means right?

I I was you, I shouldn't switch to Nikon, but to Nokon
I I was you?? Are you stuttering or did you misspell "If"?...

I find it funny when people make a typo in a post when they are making fun of someone elses typo...

Pot, kettle, black?...

To the OP, I don't think that your gear was the reason that photo is blurry. It looks like you missed focus...

That camera/lens combo is capable of much sharper results than that...

The OP was asking if anyone wished they could reshoot a photo with their newest gear and this example is a good enough reason to do so

Try doing some more street with the new gear then the reshoot is done. But if after three years the resulting photo is out of focus through lack of confidence at pointing the lens at a lady in the street then stick with the still life and landscapes, remember there is a time when a blured pic can be art you know when you get it
