Can You Believe This?!

HUH?! Oh! You mean the plasma light pic. Well, that's why--it's a cool shot (I think) of a cool thing--namely, a plasma light.
...Julio...I been meaning to ask... why do you have the Pepsi
(capital) logo (no capital) in yer signature?...
...it's OK if you answer with another question...but not satisfying...
...John...ease up... believe me...you are not alone...

Oh, BTW, how many people who bought a US flag after Sept 11th plan
on replacing it when it finally fades and is torn from wear? We
have an idea. About 10%.
I didn't have to buy one. I already have the one that the Army placed on my fathers coffin. I take good care of it.

and this made in china flag. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE? does it
take away formt he flag or the representation??? what exactly is
ironic about it??

is it ironic that some japanense cars are made in america now?? is
it alos ironic that probably half of what you own is made in other
contries??
I think it is kind of ironic that you think a bunch of Olympus users are true blue (or is that true red-white-and-blue) Made In the USA folks. I mean, they are here because they bought a camera from a Japanese company fer crying out loud.
being asian american probably has its downs fallls, and im probably
reading this thread all wrong and your intentions as well, but
having lived through the 20 years of people calling you names
becasue of who you are and the dirty looks people give you...you
will never understand the feeling one gets when they are singled
out because of their race....
Half of my family came from Japan in the 1880's, the other half from Europe (Italy) about 25 years later. Take a wild guess at which half was branded disloyal during World War II... Being Asian-American certainly has its downfalls, which is one of the reasons why I don't consider myself to be Asian-American, Italian-American or any other hyphen-American. Just plain American. If other people have issues with that (and mainly it is my fellow minorities rather than the more mainstream elements of society), that's their problem and not mine. As for the people who will judge me on the color of my skin or where my great-grandfathers were born, they are the ones who need lessons on being Americans.

You are my brother.

I don't know you presonally, but you are my brother.

I had to endure a war.

I survived.

Many I knew did not.

Many on "The Other Side" did not survive.

I did not agree with my government about the war.

Many others did not agree either.

I did what I had to do. I think I might have saved a life or two while I was there.

There is no comment from me about anything else in this message. Don't take it out of context please.

Most Humble Servent,

Old John

By the way, just to let everyone know the background, and not that it makes any difference really, this pic was taking at the rehab/nursing center my mother is in. She said some man came around handing them out.

Hi, Daniella. Haven't spoke in awhile! How are you? Well, anyway, What do you mean that it's not genuine? Because it's a small one or because it's made in China?

BTW, everyone: This pic was shot with the UZI--LOL!!!

Hey this is way off topic isn't it? But what the heck it is nearly July 4.

For what its worth, unless it is a particular historic piece, a flag is just a piece of cloth. It is what it represents that is important. If you get hung up on the piece of cloth that is to let the flag burners get to you. Focus on what it represents, that can never be burnt!

Have a happy 4th of July. I would send you a toy koala from Australia but they are all made in China these days.

I'll see if I can get a photo of the real thing.

LOL

Anyone want to buy a couple of Canon SLRs?

That's funny! But seriously, the problem with that is that you have the stamp of a communist country--the antithesis of everything the U.S. represents--on the one symbol that most represents everything this country stands for. It's almost blasphemous!

I fail to see the Olyimpus part of this.
Digital Photography please.
Focus on the forum please.
No, it's for the discussion of anything RELATED TO DIGITAL
PHOTOGRAPHY which doesn't fit into the other forums.

It is NOT for discussion of relgion etc.. There are PLENTY of other
places on the net for that. I will soon (and have just) purge any
such messages, they do not have a place here.

You must've missed the two seperate posts that included this in them:

BTW, everyone: This pic was shot with the UZI.

&

[T]hat's why I included a picture and in one of my posts pointed out that it was shot with an UZI!

Come on, Julio! They are not made by the officials of the communist government, but by ordinary folks in some small factory. China is not the Communist Politbureau - it happens to be a great country which existed thousands of years before Communism - and before the United States. Let's keep this political "us and them" talk out of here.
