From my trip this summer.

The first one taken with my wife's TZ5. I had already lost my FZ50 in Stockholm by this time. I took this series from deck 18 on the back of a cruise ship. The twin brown towers on the left belong to city hall and in the middle is Akerhaus Castle.

This next one is Oslo harbor. Upscale Aker Brygge is on the left and city hall on the right.

This sculpture was made from 3 vertical shots. This the Vigeland monolith in Frogner park. It stands 50 feet tall and contains 121 figures carved in a single block of granite.

Great panos as usual Doc, that's quite a spectacular view in the first one..did you replace the FZ50? If so with what..I won't be buying anything new for awhile just picked up the Oly ZD 35-100 f/2 zoom, for the fashion and sports shoots I'm doing this fall..Bill ~

That first pano is incredible. We attended a reception at city hall by the mayor when I spoke at a conference last year. It is also the building where they give out the nobel prize. The art, artifacts and murals in the building are incredible.
Also the towering sculpture from Vigeland Park is nicely shot too.
Brings back great memories.
Take care,
Daniel

Lovely spot by the look of things! You do get around a bit, don't you?

I'm very impressed with the last pano, I don't think too many people, including myself, look out for a vertical view - well seen, and very well executed!

Nice job,

I can see no flaws with these.

Except for cold....... :-)

Nice, I think the picture of the sculpture is impressive!

I've just started with panoramas and I know how hard it is to get them to be as beautiful and perfect as these. They are all magnificent, and the third is a great idea. Can you share how you took and processed them

Thanks for sharing a beautiful trip

Hey, great panos. I am gratefully surprised about them. Every time I try to shot for a pano I find it very difficult with my tz5 as I try to keep the camera metering for the most luminous frame and apply it to the rest of the frames in my pano but it is very hard. How do you manage to do it?

Thanks for your kind comments. I was lucky and someone found my camera. I figured out where I had misplaced it and emailed them. They sent it back to me. Really lucky. I like that FZ50.

Thanks for looking. I have some interior shots from city hall. It's a fabulous building with some great art work. I will post some later.

Thanks Mark. I think I will limit my practice to panos. :)

Thanks for looking. Post processing was minimal. An increase in contrast and saturation to bring out the colors since it was a sort of gloomy day and a bit of sharpening. Not very much.

Hi Ella,

some people do a 2 deep pano to get a lot of vertical space and those turn out really well. I have never tried one. I only used the vertical images of the monolith to get more detail. I could have taken the picture from a distance. In fact I took several from a distance which turned out ok, but by stitching 3 vertically I got a lot more detail since I was closer to the subject.

Thanks Robiro. It wasn't as cold as it looks. It was just very cloudy.

That whole place is filled with outstanding statues of bronze or granite all done by the same artist
