Mac users, raise your hands!

Larry -

Maybe you should check just whose post I was referring to...

It wasn't yours, it was Zidar,
I understood that Gary,
who said "Professional photographers
and graphic designers overwhelmingly choose Mac." That statement
wasn't in the spirit of your original query either, was it?
Only if true, then it would lend support to the notion that a Mac version of Breezebrowser was a viable notion.
Why didn't you address him directly and tell him not to spew
inflammatory one-liners, which simply aren't true.
Because I don't know that it ISN'T true (or that it is!)
Remarks like
that have traditionally started many "wars" here, in the Dodge City
of newsgroups.
Yes I know, ...that's why I encouraged you not to "bite" IF YOU THOUGHT it was "flame bait". I'm not sure that it was (or was meant-to-be). It may have simply been an honest opinion.
Oh, and by the way, I wasn't suggesting that this thread (which you
started) should end; rather I was questioning why people still
imply that the Mac is the do-all, end-all when it comes to graphics
intensive computing.
A fair question, to which I don't-know the answer. But not the point of the thread,...and without the possible "lending of support' that I mentioned believing I saw in Zidar's post.
I really believe that you misread my post entirely. As I stated, I
own a Powerbook as well as a PC. So I feel that I can be objective
about this topic.

Peace...
I read you correctly, and I like the "peace" idea. That's why I suggested not shooting back, ...there's at least a CHANCE that no one was shooting at YOU. (And I didn't start this thread to see a fight ;-)

Best wishes,

Larry

Here here! I started with DOS, moved to a Mac, moved to Win 95/98/2000, then Linux, and I came back to the Mac w/ OS X DP4 :) Been a Mac developer ever since!

This is an informal poll, intended to give some idea of the number
of DPR visitors who use a Mac AND a Canon digi-SLR. (The number
will be helpful for software designerslike Chris Breeze, in
deciding whethjer to market something like BreezeBrowser for Mac).

If you're a Mac kind-of -person, please stand up and be counted ;-)

Thanks,

Larry

You know, the spots that go:

"Duh, I used a PC for many years but never understood it. I don't understand much. I'm pretty stupid. Now I have a Mac. I'm still just as stupid, but now I'm proud of it--and I'm on TV! Oh, I'm an actress."

If I was a "Mac person", I'd feel insulted. These ads make it seem that Mac afficionados are too stupid to operate a PC. Did Jobs approve these things?

...a "DPR visitor who uses a Mac AND a Canon ..."

But thanks for the Mac-ad. critique, anyway ;-)

(Personally, I don't buy OR not-buy based on some ad-writer's efforts.)
