Professional photographers and graphic designers overwhelmingly
choose Mac.
Who says, you? I'm a professional photographer, and Photoshop
doesn't work ANY better on my Powerbook, than on my PC. The files
produced by both platforms are EXACTLY the same (Mac .tif, PC
.tif). Long ago, you might have found a large audience to agree
with you; however in today's computer world, your statement is
simply WRONG.
If anything, there are WAY more 3rd party "helper programs" made
for the PC; all my professional photo editing is done on the PC,
because Breezebrowser, YarcPlus, Qimage, etc. are written for the
PC, have been incorporated into my workflow, and since output is
the same from Photoshop, whether it's on a Mac or a PC, for me the
choice is a NO BRAINER.
Please don't make half-true claims. You may prefer the usability of
a Mac over a PC, that's your choice; however, that doesn't make the
Mac platform a better one for professional photographers and
graphic designers. I don't know what you mean in your claim of
"serious work"; I would think that any work that puts food on the
table and pays the bills would qualify as "serious work", wouldn't
you? Do your homework - practically ALL "serious" software is
ported to both the MAC and PC platforms, is it not?
Will this Ford vrs. Chevy mentality never end?
Professional photographers and graphic designers overwhelmingly
choose Mac. If a software product is aimed at the enthusiast
market, then PC only is fine. But for serious work graphics
programs must be written for Mac operating system. With OSX moving
into the mainstream among Mac users this will be even more true.
