A BreezeBrowser for Mac would eliminate my dependance on a PC for preliminary conversion before Mac fine tuning.

Professional photographers and graphic designers overwhelmingly
choose Mac.
Who says, you? I'm a professional photographer, and Photoshop doesn't work ANY better on my Powerbook, than on my PC. The files produced by both platforms are EXACTLY the same (Mac .tif, PC .tif). Long ago, you might have found a large audience to agree with you; however in today's computer world, your statement is simply WRONG.

If anything, there are WAY more 3rd party "helper programs" made for the PC; all my professional photo editing is done on the PC, because Breezebrowser, YarcPlus, Qimage, etc. are written for the PC, have been incorporated into my workflow, and since output is the same from Photoshop, whether it's on a Mac or a PC, for me the choice is a NO BRAINER.

Please don't make half-true claims. You may prefer the usability of a Mac over a PC, that's your choice; however, that doesn't make the Mac platform a better one for professional photographers and graphic designers. I don't know what you mean in your claim of "serious work"; I would think that any work that puts food on the table and pays the bills would qualify as "serious work", wouldn't you? Do your homework - practically ALL "serious" software is ported to both the MAC and PC platforms, is it not?

Will this Ford vrs. Chevy mentality never end?
Professional photographers and graphic designers overwhelmingly
choose Mac. If a software product is aimed at the enthusiast
market, then PC only is fine. But for serious work graphics
programs must be written for Mac operating system. With OSX moving
into the mainstream among Mac users this will be even more true.

I've been a PC user for about ten years and bought a Mac a month ago. My PC hasn't been touched in two weeks. Hopefully I'll be getting my D-60 delivered in the next couple of weeks.

Got a top of the line G4 Mac a year ago, it blew me away. Dumped my Sony VAIO laptop for an iBook last month, I have eliminated my Windows infestation. (I would have gone Ti, but I found a new iBook 600 with combo drive at Circuit City on closeout for $600. My cousin got the floor model for $500. Talk about a deal!)

Unless you are a hardcore gamer, I think the Mac does everything better than Windows. Plus the OS hasn't crashed since November. Can't say that about any Wintel machine I have ever seen.

This is just simply a fact. I don't think there are any other intentions lurking here.

Count me in: OSX, D60.

Gary, if you think the post was flame bait, please don't bite.

This thread had a purpose, and it WON'T be served by turning it into the "war" you suggest should "end".

"What if they gave a war and nobody (including you) came?"...at times it's a very good question.

There have been plenty of those inane "Mine is better (bigger?) than yours!" threads, ...please let's avoid another one. Ignore - don't shoot back.

Don,

You haven't mentioned any Canon Digicam... please read the original post.

This "versus" / superiority stuff is not what this thread is about.
It only dilutes the appropriate content.

Thanks,

Larry

Dreamscuba wrote " Always a MAC and only a MAC"
I think I should have worded the last sentence differently ;-)

So are you a Mac AND Canon person(read the first paragraph)? That's what we're after here.
