Hi.

I am looking to have a Canon D60 one month from now, when I return from travel. Where can I place an order (I don't mind prepaying, as long as it is from a very reputable place) and expect to have it available in less than or about one month?

I live in the Maryland/DC/Northern VA area, obviously, I would prefer places close to home.

Thanks.

If you check out the post I made yesterday concerning the "good guys (stores)" that have (had) D60's IN STOCK you may get some leads. Also check out Canadian dealers though you will have to pay about $100 more dur to the exchange rate plus shipping.

I'm sure if you'll willing to pay enough of a premium someone may be able to get one in your hands. :-)

Start calling every random camera store in the country. 50% will not know what a D60 is, 49% will have a 3 month waiting list and 1% will have one in stock or no waiting list.

It took me about 4 hours of straight calling until I found one. But I had mine within a week. I bought it in early June. 700 photos and counting.

Betty tells me her waiting list isn't that long currently. You will pay a bit more but that is your choice, as it just isn't widely available yet. You can give Betty a call at (877)782-9840

You can go just about anywhere and get one within a month.
(So long as you do prepay it with cash and not a credit card)

Whoa! http://www.paypalwarning.com is pretty scary stuff.

I just closed my account, I didn't realize they're not an accredited
financial institution. Basically they're a joe random dot com that plays
bank and makes up rules and policies as they go along. There's
absolutely no way I will grant them access to my bank account again
until they're a bona fide trust company that's subject to banking
rules and regulations.

I'll sell mine for 10,000

wait - but then I'd have to go get another one and that's near impossible to do.

never mind

Gee I was gonna sell him mine for $5000 Steve

Call any and all local stores you can find. Ask them about D60 availability. Try stores like Penn Camera, Ace Photo, local Ritz stores, etc...

  • Canon EOS D-30 & PowerShot S100
  • Maybe one day I'll take a decent picture. In the meantime, I'll blame the equipment. :)

Good thing!!

Mine CANNOT be closed since you CANNOT close your account while it is FROZEN! They said you have to FAX this..you have to FAX that...all sensitive information...

And, they DON'T answer e-mails either!! No answers to ANY e-mails whatsoever while your account is FROZEN!!!

Get your money out of there FAST!

I wouldn't bother with Penn. I have been notified by them that their supply from Canon was cut in half and that they can not even project waiting times. I am on thier pre-pay list for about a month now and was told by my sales guy that I was #11 on his personal list but that there were 40 other sales guys and that he had no clue.

It is getting worse out there not better.
