I hoped for a follow up for the 1D M3

if the MarkIII was released without major issues it wouldn't be time to replace it...its time...

Canon is clearly sweeping the 1D line under the carpet. That is why they released the 5DmkII. To sweep the 1Ds under the carpet.

If Canon released a MarkIIIn or gave a "rebate" to MarkIII owners, it would be admitting there was a problem. Having already released a MarkIIn, having another "n" would be super bad for Canon PR. That would be two consecutive cameras that need "fixing"

Rather than "fixing" those cameras, they simply want people to forget about them, by releasing cheaper cameras with similar / better capabilities.

I assume the 1D MarkIII will be forgotten soon as well.

Nonsense. They released the 5DmkII because the 5D is now three years old and they have a compelling replacement for the same market that embraced the original. Canon has a market strategy and they're sticking with it.

There are people who are perfectly happy with their 1DmkIII purchase. Like every piece of gear it isn't perfect, but it's certainly more than capable of producing stunning photographs. I'm sure Canon has a replacement in the works, but the last thing they're going to do is rush something to market at this point.

When the replacement is ready, they'll announce it.

Greetings

I don't know where you get your information from but 1dmk2 WAS NOT broken that required a replacement 1dmk2n. BTW I have both cams. The N version was an improvement upon an already great camera. As far as releasing 5Dmk2 it has nothing to do with 1dsmk3. if I follow your logic then we must of had a broken 5D that required a 5DMK2 for the past 3 years.

I understand this forum is for camera gear talk but lets be realistic and think it through before we comment in a public forum with inaccurate information and present it as facts. It is obvious either you don't have any of these cams that you are commenting on or you don't know how to use them. And yes the MK3 had focus issues which mostly been addressed. In May of 2007 I got 505XXX Mk3 that was "broken" and in September of 2008 I got another MK3 with no problems.

They already admitted there was a problem, have you been absent from photography community for a long time?

False, FALSE see above explanation

You got to be kidding

Who says it can't be done?

Early batches of 1D3 had AF issues and have now been fixed. Now it works according to specification which is in all aspects better than its predecessor. As such, the release of a 1D3n is ... for what?!

call it a 3N? It's got to be a 4.

Wait a second.
I heard that they are working on a new camera.
They are currently testing it and hoped they would introduce it this month

16,1 MP full frame.
Digic 4
12,5 FPS
Build in Lan and Wifi
Video HD

That looks like the follow up for the 1DM3

No 21.2 MP but a 16,1 MP

So no other troll is born
