Where to pre-order S2

Anyone have any advice on pre-ordering an S2. I would obviously like to get my hand on a camera ASAP. I did speak to Tallyns and while they seem great, they have a list of 150 orders already... Any ideas?
 
Try calling the people at Camera Canada at http://cameracanada.com . They are expecting the S2 around mid July. They said that they had confirmed that with Fuji Canada.They don't have the exact price yet, but expect to be able to sell it for about the same price as the D100 which is just over $3000 CDN. You can also check out Photocreative at http://www.photocreative.com/store/product.cfm?SKU=FUJIS2 . The price seems to be a bit higher there though. I think you will find that the Canadian shops won't have that much of a waiting list and they are both very reputable places.

State Street Direct advertises on this site (Phil Askey requested we support it in this forum) and lists the S2 at a good price...they had a deal whereby they through in a 128 Smartmedia card along with the camera, though I think it expires 7/1.

they claim they are to have the camera tommorrow

I pre-ordered mine there, though I usually do business with B&H who usually do not take pre-orders
 
Thank you all very much for the suggestions. I did have a chat to Tallyns and they indicated that there would be a long wait, hence my looking around. I will investigate the suggestions.

Tallyn's are quite good at keeping in touch via e-mail, you could ask
what delivery date you could expect if you placed an order now.

I feel like a kid in the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas, waiting for Santa to arrive.

Is there any way to figure out where we stand in the order queue and thereafter when the S2 might get shipped out?

they wrote me saying they debit at time of shipment
also the order can be cancelled prior to shipment if desired

they are including the 128 Mb Smartmedia card with my order which they said they would be shipping "any day now" & they kindly said they would email me when they shipped
