Hi!

I´ve been playing around with zoombrowser and breeze downloader.

When shooting jpeg, breeze downloader will automatically save the files in folders by year/month/day. When shooting raw files, this doesn´t work.

I assume breeze downloader does use the exif info on the jpeg, that isn´t available in the raw file.
Is there a possiblity to do the same thing with raw files?

I had the same system on my Casio QV4000, and found it to work pretty good. With my D60 I actually have to sort the images by hand, and create the directories by myself.
Anyone can help me?

BTW: I found the in camera file naming by date and image number much more pleasing than the continous numbering of the D60.

I have written my own utility (in python) that
can extract EXIF data (including the date and
time) form jpegs. As I shoot raw all the time,
I use Raw Image Converter to convert the files
into jpegs in the same folder. I have extended
my utility to recognize if there is a raw file
and a jpeg file with the same name, and in this
case rename both to the date and time specified
in the jpeg file. If you are interested I will
make this extension to my utility available (but
it might take a week before I get around to put
it on my web page...).

Rene,

I'm not sure what you are doing, but IF you download the CRW and their associated .THM (say using either a card reader or breezedownloader) then Breezebrowser associates the information in the THM with the CRW. Thus you can batch rename by date (which is what I have been doing for over a year).

My "flow" is to cull through and throw out the obviously bad shots and then do a batch rename with the Date and sequence on that date. Breezebrowser's batch renaming facility is about the best I have found.

Rene, I use the Breeze Downloader including the automatically generated folder named by date feature. I haven't noticed any difference at all in the way it works as between jpg and crw. It works exactly the same for me.

What happens when you try to use it on crw's?

Hi!

I just get a folder from the day I´m actually downloading the files from

CF to my computer. Let´s say today is the 29th of June, and I have pictures on the card that have been taken the three days before, all images are copied in a folder named "2002-06-29".

Are you using Breeze Downloader? If so, go to Edit Preferences and you can tell it to use the image date rather than today's.

Cheers

Hmmm....ok.
Sometimes it´s just "rtfm".
I tried it as you said, and it works pretty good.

The only option I left over in the preferences was the one you told me to use :-> .
And the batch renaming is pretty cool, too.
