new one in PPG

Congrats Karen. That is a mighty beautiful capture. I have been making a point to go to the ppg and vote at least every other day. I find it much easier not to have a backlog of 2 hours of photos to look through. I do wish they'd change the interface somewhat. I feel like I must look at each image full size so it takes time going back and forth the way it is set up. I remember seeing your flower. Definitely a thumbs up submission!

Beautiful shot! It must be outstanding to have made it through the voting process, as it seems alot of voters have complained about too many macros, flowers, etc... Myself, I think if the pic is technically well shot and asthetically pleasing, it shouldn't matter what the subject matter is!

Very nice!..can I ask, was this shot indoors?
thanks, dave.

this was actually shot outside in the sunshine, this bloom is so deep that i hadn't a prayer of getting good depth of field shooting straight down into it, however the sun shining down into it is what gives it that wonderful inner glow.

i sat the plant so that the background was a shadow from a larger plant and managed to get it to come out quite dark.

One remark: when I look at the image in the gallery it has a white
stripe on the left border. Might be a glitch in the flash viewer
program or have others seen the same?
I see it - in the version in this thread, too.

Still like it :-)
