Richard.... You don't need it! This Peony is dreamy enough without any added effect. Just how did you set this one up? I like the colors against the black background.

p - mode, lower in a vase, camera in hand, bright spotlight in other hand ( mine is 150 watts). shine light on subject, spot meter on the brightest spot and shoot! The background will not show because of the fast shutter speed.

I think that it is a fantastic photo ... perfect. Hopefully 3TDIM will see it and learn a few things. The colors ... focus ... depth of field ... background are perfect. That ain't easy to do shooting out of a straight jacket.

Great picture. Your guys pictures keep inspiring me to keep trying to improve.

I read how you accomplished the dark background. Do you know how to do it with software, too? I've seen some pictures where the background looks completely gone, and I thought it was done via software.
