I just bought a sony P9 and tried to transfer pics from my harddrive to the camera via memory stick but was unsuccessful. Is there a way to do this via USB cable or any other method?

I had an old minolta camera that was able to transfer pics back and forth to the camera without any problems.

I don't know about the P9, but for my S-75, two things are necessary to be able to put images back in the camera and have the camera acknowlege their presence:

1) At least one picture must be in the camera already.

2) The pic you put back in must have the EXIF information and be numbered with a DSC000122 or something similar.

There are programs out there that allow you to take an existing jpg without EXIF information on it and convert it to a file the camera can read. I got it, and it works well for loading images for a slideshow when company comes.

Hope that helps.

E_WOK,

Could I ask a dumb question? Why would you want to take a picture off the hard drive & put it on your camera? I guess I don't understand.

When I went to Disney World recently. I put the days pictures (every night) on my laptop off the memory sticks. When I got home I loaded the pictures (100 or so at a time) back on the memory stick via the reader, Then took the sticks & readers to my main computer & put them on it that way. But I guess this wasn't what you're trying to do? :0.. Shayron

I've done it a couple of times to put movies that I originally shot on the 707 back on it so I could then show off to friends by playing them back through a TV in another room in the house

I've put still back on the MS too but I've always made sure that I was using the original downloaded versions and that I put them in the correct directory on the MS

Hi!

Xatshow is a brilliant program that allows you to make PC slideshows, and if you have a DVD player, Video CD slideshows (with a soundtrack too, if you want).

Putting the pictures back onto the camera for a slideshow is useful if you have no other means to show friends/family pictures taken without having to print them out.

Another use for putting back to camera is if you have one of those DVD Recorders (not the type that is in the PC, but the video recorder type) that will then allow you to make a stunning slideshow or intersperse stills with motion, by connecting the camera's video out to the DVD's input.

I use this method to make DVDs, and play them back on my 40" TV for checking. WOW, what quality...

I would like to know what program allows you to put EXIF back though, as I uses photoshop to make titles and end titles and cannot currently put those back to the camera for replay. I am saving as JPG and renaming DSC0001 or whatever but the EXIF is not there... :-(

Tyrone
