Thanks for info...I use an HP1000 and HP premium photo
paper.......sounds like maybe the wrong choice of printers.......
Yup--me, too. As in "the wrong choice of company." I have an HP
970Cse and I'm
very unhappy with it lately. Doesn't seem to
matter what paper I use or how many days I dry after printing,
wherever there are blacks on a print, they smudge (and eventually
stick like glue to the sleeve) when put in a portfolio, even when
the sleeves are acid- and lignin-free mylar. I'm ready to throw
this printer out the window.
I'm trying a new paper today (Epson Premium Luster); but even if it
cures the smudging blacks problem, it doesn't have the shine of the
glossy papers I prefer. I'm wondering: do I have to switch to a
non-glossy paper to get rid of smudging blacks? And will I have
this same insane problem after upgrading to an Epson 2200? I can't
sell prints that look this crappy.
