Reading mode: Light Dark

Trying the dream effect...

This technique does darken the original but the original photo was a little dark to start with. There is a lot of "playing" around that can be done with the settings to get different looks.

Thanks, it really means a lot to me to get positve feedback from this group. I feel like I'm just getting my feet wet in forum of certified "swimmers" :)

Nice shots. I love 24 Dream.

Gary,

Wild flower. Isn't this effect fun? I'm still looking for the best way to lighten the photo to get back some of the details in the shadow areas.

BTW, everytime I glance at your name, I think it says gallstones. Is it just me? Probably.

Wow! Just visited your gallery. LakeDream and Diamonds were my favorites. Can you share any special settings or techniques you used for those?

Thanks for the comments. I learned to do it from other people here in the forum. I use Paint Shop Pro but other programs can be used.

Dupilcate the layer then use gaussian blur(15-30), Blend mode to multiply then merge the layers. Adjust to taste using gamma correction and or curves.

Hi Gary,sorry, triple post here. I see you live in Boise. I looked at your picture from Boise. I enjoyed them. I grew up in Ontario, Or and went to high school at Gem State Academy in Caldwell, Id. Been a few years ago. Has it been pretty warm down there? I know that it sure can be. Just had to say hi.

101 deg on Wed. I visited your gallery and see you have an interest in aircraft. I retired from the Air Force about 9 years ago. Anyway this isn't related much to Olys so will shut up. (Sorry everyone....)

Yup, 101 sounds about right. I can't say that I miss that. I take all the pics I can of aircraft. I am really looking forward to the upcoming airshow at Fairchild. Thunderbirds will be there. I took about 100 pics of the B17 and the B24. Neat old airplanes.
