After two days with the C700, I'm sorry but the chromatic aberration on this particular camera is just too much for me. :-(

I see in another thread that Olympus is clearing out their final stock of the C2100 with particular mention of "look for a sale soon at CompUSA". Once I return this C700, will I be equally disappointed with the chromatic aberration on the C2100?

The C2100 in my experience has somewhat less CA than the C-700, but still suffers quite a bit. Actually, the C-700 suffers more from blooming than CA. The smaller the aperture the less the effect. at an aperture of f8 I get zero CA. At f5 I get very little.

Thanks Brian. How do I uninstall the "autoconnect driver"? In the Olympus folder placed during the installation of the autoconnect driver, I see an uninstall.ini file. However, when I right click on the uninstall.ini I don't see an option to "Install" or "Uninstall". BTW...I only installed the autoconnect driver as I didn't want to install the Camedia software. There's no uninstall option in the add/remove section either.

I found the uninstall program. Sorry about the previous post.

Sorry, don't have a clue, but I don't think that leaving it installed will have an adverse effect on your computer.

Go with the C-2100UZ. I took about 1300 shots in New Zealand with it in March and found CA/blooming in no more than 10.

Better get online at Compusa, UZI are back for sale. This may be the last time they are available.

2x UZI, DC4800, B-300, A-200

there might be difference from camera to camera, but the c2100 has also some chromatic aberation. They both have problem with it in some circonstances, but some cameras are worse than others. My c700 does not produce such a big amount of it and I rarely see it in my photos.

So you may endup with another camera that has more or less CA..its depends. I would exchange it if the CA is too bad, as maybe the lens is misaligned or defective for some reason.

If you buy a c2100, get an extended warranty to protect the camera from SDS. Its a good idea since they are discontinued, especially if you like the camera.

Daniella -

I would have contacted you via email, but you seem to have your email blocked. I'll have to respond to your continued misleading posts here in public. Sorry.

Speaking just for me, I'm tired of your continued mis-information. The C2100z has not been discontinued. The C700 has.

Check Phil's list, check the Oly site. If I'm wrong, prove it. Otherwise knock it off.

People have enough problems picking a camera without others throwing mis-information into the mix.

I don't know why you have such an immense need to promote the C700 over the C2100z, they're both good cameras, different tools for different jobs.

Please stick to the facts, give the rest a rest.

best,
